Developing the highest health standards

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak in the countries where the Group operates, Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield’s primary focus has been to protect the health and safety of its employees, tenants, visitors and partners by developing demanding protocols in its destinations.

The Group has worked with Bureau Veritas – one of the world’s most distinguished leaders in testing, inspection and certification (TIC) services – since 2012 to attest to the implementation of very strict standards regarding health and safety within our shopping centres.

Since the start of the COVID-19 outbreak, we have been working with Bureau Veritas’ team of experts and epidemiologists to ensure our shopping centres comply with the latest recommendations by health authorities, and make sure our customers can enjoy their visit in the best possible way.

Following the certification of our Westfield European centres as “Safe & Healthy Places”, Bureau Veritas conducted a review and audit of the Group’s world-class COVID-related health and safety practices, policies and procedures in the United States, under the SafeGuardTM “Hygiene Excellence and Safety Certification”. Both recognise a facility that has met stringent requirements to minimise the on-site risk of virus spread and is adhering to best-in-class hygiene and safety protocols.
