Solidarity for France
While our operations in France were reduced during the pandemic, the URW leadership volunteered to reduce their compensation in solidarity with their teams and donate the difference to the fight against Covid-19.
Notable projects that we have been proud to support include the Paris Fire Brigade. Its 8,000 people are fully mobilised in the fight against Covid, and our engagement will facilitate the organisation’s youth programme, which plays a vital role in citizenship, safety training, first aid and firefighting.
We also worked with the Red Cross to raise funds and provide essential services including first aid, medical support and homeless shelters, as well as support for isolated people in quarantine and delivery services for food and essential goods.
Faced with the increase in cases of violence against women during the Covid outbreak, we committed to help women by opening safe spaces in our centres. We also worked with national charities providing physical and mental health service, as well as social, economic and legal support and helplines for vulnerable women.
We’ve been active on social media to raise funds for associations or public institutions in urgent need of equipment, and we have worked with local authorities to build partnerships with hospitals and nursing homes.
We continue to dedicate our resources, assets and connections to serve our communities in the most efficient and helpful ways we can during these unprecedented times.
