Achieving Recognition in CSR
2020 saw URW achieve widespread recognition for our CSR strategies.
Our ambitious carbon reduction targets were approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) as being consistent with the level required to meet the goals of the historic Paris Agreement.
Our leadership on climate change has also been recognised by the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP); for the third year in a row we have achieved the highest assessment possible, confirming the relevance of our approach.
For the tenth year running we achieved a 5 Star rating from GRESB, the global ESG benchmark for real assets; and in 2020 the Group was recognised as being a Global Listed Development Sector Leader for Diversified – Office/Retail portfolios, with a score of 94/100.
We also achieved an exceptional rating from ISS (the Institutional Shareholder Services group of companies) for our environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) practices in June 2020. This is the best grading ever for the Group, ranking us in the leaders' group (first decile) and according URW “prime” status, which highlights our best-in-class approach.
